1. Information We Collect

Account Information: Name, email address, and phone number you provide when creating your account.

Location Data: Your GPS coordinates, collected only when you perform a check-in or trigger an emergency SOS. We do not track your location continuously in the background without your explicit action.

Check-In History: Records of your check-ins including timestamp and optional location, stored to show your guardians you are safe.

Device Information: Device token (FCM token) used solely to deliver safety alerts to your device. Battery level is reported during emergencies so guardians can assess urgency.

Usage Data: Anonymous app usage analytics via Firebase Analytics to improve app performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To send check-in reminders and missed check-in alerts to you
• To notify your designated guardians when you miss a check-in or trigger SOS
• To share your location with guardians during active emergencies only
• To deliver push notifications for safety alerts
• To improve app reliability via crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)

3. Information Sharing

With Your Guardians: When you check in, your name and optional location are shared with your designated guardians. During an SOS, your live location is shared until you cancel.

With Service Providers: We use Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Messaging) to operate the app. These services process data according to Google's privacy policy.

We never: sell your personal data, share your data with advertisers, or share your data with third parties beyond what is needed to operate the safety features.

4. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore) with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Your data is stored in the asia-south1 (Mumbai) region. Access is controlled by Firebase Security Rules — you can only access your own data and guardians can only access data you explicitly share with them.

5. Data Retention

• Check-in history: retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted
• Emergency records: retained for 30 days after resolution
• Account data: retained until you delete your account
• Location data: not stored after check-in notification is delivered

6. Your Rights

You have the right to: access your data, correct inaccurate data, delete your account and all associated data, and export your data. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below or use the Delete Account feature in Settings.

7. Contacts Permission

iSafe requests access to your device contacts solely to allow you to select and assign guardians from your existing contacts. We do not upload, store, or share your contact list with any third party. Contact data is accessed only at the moment you choose a guardian and is never stored on our servers beyond the guardian's name and phone number you explicitly select.

8. Location Permission

iSafe requests location permission only when you perform a check-in or trigger SOS. We request "While Using the App" permission — we do not request background location access. Location is optional; the app works without it.

9. Children's Privacy

iSafe is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification. Continued use of iSafe after changes means you accept the updated policy.
